Trade Breakdown: Heat, Clippers, and Jazz Complete Three-Team Deal
Heat get: Norman Powell
Clippers get: John Collins
Jazz get: Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson, 2027 second-round pick
This trade gives each team something they need. The Heat added Norman Powell, a reliable scorer and shooter who can give their bench some much-needed punch. He fits Miami’s system well and brings playoff experience without costing them any core players.
The Clippers take a chance on John Collins, who’s still just 26 and has shown real potential in the past. It’s a fresh start for Collins, and the Clippers hope he can thrive in a new environment as they continue reshaping their frontcourt. The Clippers are also prioritizing saving cap space for the future when other big name stars come on the market in 2027.
The Jazz walk away with two veteran forwards in Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson — both solid locker room guys who can help guide a young team. However, these two do not really add much talent to any roster, and most likely have no trade value. They also picked up a 2027 second-round pick, adding to their growing pile of future assets.
Overall, I strongly believe that the Clippers made the right decision here. The Heat also made a good move trading virtually nothing to et Norman Powell. The Jazz lost this trade with giving up Collins and adding 2 more players who do not mean much.
